Beauty Queen Nia Sanchez Did Something Unexpected At The Miss USA 2015 Stage! The Camera Caught Her For Being ‘Real,’ Or Was It Disgusting?

Nevada's representative Nia Sanchez won the national crown last year and later became first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, and as she hosted the Miss USA 2015 preliminary competition last night, the camera caught her with an unexpected gesture.

The Latina beauty Nia Sanchez was seen at the Miss USA 2015 preliminaries licking her fingers and using them to turn the page of her script. A screenshot from the competition video posted on YouTube can be seen below.

Nia Sanchez's Miss USA 2015 preliminaries hosting stint was done alongside comedian Nick Teplitz who was back with the pageant rhymes on stage.

That gesture by the outgoing Miss USA titleholder happened midway between the swimsuit round and the evening gown competition when Nick Teplitz thanked the pageant venue and introduced the mayor who was watching the competition live.

Nia Sanchez's Miss USA 2015 appearance at the preliminary show featured her in various gowns. She made her entrance in a striking blue satin gown with a wide train. The second gown she wore was a combination of white and blue, which showed more of her skin.

But was this gesture by Nia Sanchez at the Miss USA 2015 stage something that just showed her being "real" or was it something "disgusting"?

Some people lick their fingers when it is difficult to quickly turn pages of a book. An online forum had someone saying that this common gesture is "disgusting."

A certain forum participant named SotiCoto wrote, "They're everywhere and they're disgusting. Makes me nauseous."

"I once arrived early at a meeting, in time to watch the person in charge distribute papers at every seat. I noted when she began that she was a finger licker... There was a wet spot on it that actually warped the page," said one comment in another forum.

Ignoring these remarks, pageant fans think Nia Sanchez was just being real and that she just showed she is true to herself.

Maria Tiffany Abraham commented, "For me, that's something she should be proud of - being real."

"It's okay, she still managed to look pretty while doing that," another Facebook user wrote.

Contestants from all the 50 states in the US, along with the District of Columbia, competed at the preliminary competition. They walked on the stage in both their swimsuits and evening gowns as the judges decided the roster of the finalists for the final show.

Nia Sanchez brought home the crown at the same venue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She will be handing the Miss USA 2015 crown to her successor on July 12 as the pageant airs live on Reelz Channel.
