Joseph Morgan's group selfies weren't the only things that made fans' hearts flutter during the San Diego Comic Con last week. "The Originals" season 3 trailer also teased new enemies for the Mikaelson family.
"The Originals" season 3 trailer contained snippets of what the siblings went through in the first three seasons, but new footage show a woman and a man talking about the original vampire's vulnerabilities.
"What if I tell you the Originals are far from untouchables," a mysterious woman says, as she hands a file to an unknown man. "After a millennium, we finally know their weakness."
The file contains pictures and information of the people around Klaus, Elijah and Rebecca which includes Marcel and Davina.
"What exactly are you proposing?" the said man asks, to which she cryptically replies with "I say we stop fighting each other and go after the ones who made us."
Although no specific information was provided for the two new characters, previous reports suggested that these individuals might just be Aurora and Lucien, two vampires who are set to visit New Orleans.
According to Dread Central, executive producer Michael Narducci promised during the Comic Con panel that viewers will get to see "the history of vampirism [like who were the first people turned?] and sire lines."
Could these new characters be the key to discovering more about the said history? The producers did reveal that the Mikaelsons will once again be plagued by a "frightening" new mythology next season.
Danielle Campbell, who plays the witch Davina, also promised that "a few big bads" will show up. Fans can also expect an onslaught of "new witches, new vampires, and some new wolves".
Who do you think are these mysterious new characters and how dangerous will they be to the Mikaelsons? Fans will have to wait for Oct. 15 to find out.
