The latest "True Detective" season 2 episode again ended in an explosive fashion, literally and figuratively.

The shootout scene in the episode titled "Down Will Come" left the audience shocked, confused, and more. The ongoing investigation of Caspere's murder lead investigators Det. Raymond "Ray" Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Det. Antigone "Ani" Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams), and Officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) into a drug den. A fire opened and lead to another, and then another, until bodies fall and the site is filled with blood.

While this particular scene in the latest "True Detective" season 2 episode has many fans reeling, the TV series' cast Rachel McAdams puked. The Canadian actress has done some intense scenes before but the shootout is something that gave her a hard time.

"That one took about five days," McAdams told in interview with Variety for promotion of her new movie "Southpaw" where she co-stars with Jake Gyllenhaal. "That was pretty intense. I actually puked during that scene. When I was running and reloading my gun - it actually wound up being about 200 yards, it was like two football fields - and I was just going all out and we did it a couple of times."

Although she had a hard time completing "True Detective" season 2 episode 4, McAdams said it was a fun experience for her.

"It was my own fault," she said. "I had been drinking that EmergenC and going hard to just try to keep my energy up. Not a good combination, the running and that. But I kind of felt bada-. Like yeah, let's do it again. It was really fun though. I like action. I like being thrust into that."

Four "True Detective" season 2 episode has been aired so far and as expected, this season is getting unsolicited comparisons to its first season offering starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

McAdams said in an interview with ET Online that this season is very much different and that creator Nic Pizzolato has something unique to offer for season two.

"Of course, there's going to be comparisons and of course, you want it to be just as good but I think it's a different beast this year. I appreciate that because if you hold on tight to the old format, you don't grow and it doesn't get to breathe. I admire that he took another leap this year," McAdams added.

"True Detective" season 2 episode 4 will air on July 18 and is called "Other Lives."
