Philips announces new syncing capability of its lighting system with "Sharknado 3" and Xbox One game "Chariot."

Before the syncing capability works, users may need to download the Syfy Sync app connecting their light to the tv show.

" The app works by detecting the sound that's currently playing from the television, changing the lights at the appropriate time to match each scene," Mac Rumors added.

Aside from this collaboration with Syfy, Philips also partnered with Frima studios for its first integration with a video game. Hue light will match the lighting scenes on the the co-op platformer "Chariot" when synced.

"With over one million downloads worldwide, Chariot is a popular couch co-op platformer with rich, vibrant colours and out-of-this-world graphics and environments. It is now able to control all the Philips Hue lights in the room to reflect in real time what is happening in the game," Philips said on its announcement yesterday.

"Different lights are connected together to create a unique ambiance with hundreds of colours for the ultimate immersion in the game universe. When enemies attack, Hue lights blink red. When colourful plants bloom, their colours are reflected in the room. From subtle shifts to sudden bursts, everything onscreen is reflected in a Hue-enabled space."

The Verge added that the lighting system will "light up your room, blinking red when enemies attack, and reflecting hundreds of different colors as the game's plants bloom."

The Philips Hue light system which include three light bulbs and a hub can be purchased at Amazon for $185.
