‘Cinderella’ Star Lily James To Become Elizabeth Bennet In ‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’! How ‘Kickass’ Will Her Character Be?

Elizabeth Bennett is known for being a proud young woman in Jane Austen's classic novel but "Cinderella" star Lily James will be breathing new life to the iconic fictional character for "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies."

Who else will join her in the movie adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's deadly twist on the classic story?

After "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" comes another supernatural reimagining of one of the most iconic characters in literary history. This time, Grahame-Smith turned his attention on Jane Austen's famous novel, "Pride And Prejudice".

In the upcoming film, Lizzie and her sisters will have more things to worry about than getting a husband. Trained in martial arts, the Bennett sisters will be defending themselves and their loved ones from the zombies that threaten to overtake the British empire.

Lizzie, on the other hand, uses her fighting skills to dissuade her suitors as well.

Lily James, in "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies", will reportedly be "the most kickass Elizabeth Bennett we've ever seen", at least according to co-star Sam Riley, who plays another iconic character, Mr. Darcy.

"There is a scene where my proposal to her goes horribly wrong and we end up having a fight in the drawing room where she attacks me with the letter opener and poker," the "Maleficent" star reportedly told The Independent, adding, "I can speak from experience that she's pretty lethal."

Fans will definitely see a different side to the "Downton Abby" actress in this fantasy film.

"She's going to be one of the best Elizabeth Bennets, if not the best," Riley continued to praise James. "She's certainly the most kickass. She's got a very natural and unforced charm that I think is perfect for Lizzie Bennet."

Joining James and Riley in the Burr Steers film are "Doctor Who" alum Matt Smith (Mr. Collins), "Game Of Thrones" stars Charles Dance and Lena Headey, as well as Douglas Booth and Jack Housten (Mr. Wickham).

Aside from Sam Riley's praises for Lily James as Elizabeth Bennet, Matt Smith also told the crowd at Comic Con last week that "zombies are exactly what 'Pride and Prejudice' needed, I think."
