Frankie Muniz Stroke Reminds Him to Take Better Care of his Body,

Frankie Muniz, the "Malcolm in the Middle" actor, tweeted the surprising news Tuesday that he recently suffered a "mini stroke."

"I was in the hospital last Friday," Muniz tweeted. "I suffered a 'mini stroke' which was not fun at all.

"Have to start taking care of my body!" he added. "Getting old!"

Frankie Muniz now plays drums for the band Kingsfoil, and has tweeted details of the band's upcoming dates since the hospitalization.

Muniz was once considered one of the most bankable teen stars during his years in the hit show Malcolm in the Middle, which finished in 2006 after a six year run. (Bryan Cranston, who played his onscreen dad Hal, is now the Emmy-awarding star of Breaking Bad.)

"Malcolm in the Middle" was about an ordinary boy who tests at genius level and his dysfunctional family.

In February last year, police were called to his home which he shares with his girlfriend after reports of violence broke out.  Officers were told that the actor had struck her and put a gun to his own head, possibly with suicidal intent.

After finding no signs of injury, police confiscated Muniz's .380 semi-automatic gun and issued disorderly-conduct warnings to Muniz and his girlfriend. They said the incident wouldn't be  investigated further.
