The presence of Asian actors in American TV shows have been growing steadily over the years. According to Fusion, however, there's still a "short supply" of actors with Asian blood in TV land.
Reportedly, only 37.9% have at least one Asian-American character in their cast. Despite the short list, however, these characters have managed to endear viewers with their performances.
One of the most famous Asian-American actors is Lucy Liu who appeared in "Ally McBeal" and "Elementary." Daniel Dae Kim, a South Korean-born actor, is also famous for his roles in "Lost" and "Hawaii Five-0". Meanwhile, Maggie Q became quite famous for her in "Nikita."
NBC's cult classic superhero series, "Heroes," had several Asian actors during its run. Sendhil Ramamurthy and Masi Oka became fan favorites and are even set to reprise their roles in the reboot, "Heroes Reborn," later this year.
Sandra Oh won fans over in "Grey's Anatomy," while Mindy Kaling made viewers laugh in "The Office" and "The Mindy Project."
Jenna Ushkowitz, Darren Criss, and Harry Shum, Jr. from "Glee," Brenda Song from several Disney shows, Steven Yeun from "The Walking Dead" and Reggie Lee from "Grimm" are just some of the actors with an Asian bloodline on American shows that fans grew to love.
