Megan Fox Quits Twitter, Questions 'What's the Point?"

Jan 11, 2013 01:55 PM EST | By Staff Reporter

Megan Fox, the new mommy and sexy actress, has quit Twitter after trying out the 140 character social networking tool for just a week, saying that she will rather stick to Facebook.

Fox, 26, opened a Twitter account on Jan. 3, and tweeted out: "I'm incredibly late to the party but I'm here nonetheless, so what now?"

After gaining 250,000 followers, she seemed to not get the point of Twitter and sent this message out: "5 days on Twitter and I have yet to discern its purpose," on Jan. 9.

Megan Fox also used Twitter the way many celebs do, for self promotion. She promoted her latest movie "This Is 40" and also shared some adorable photos of herself as a child.

However, maintaining a social network account as a celebrity may be too much work for the actress and a new mommy of her first son, Noah, so she announced on Thursday on Facebook that was not up to the challenge of keeping her Twitter account open.

"Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down...," she wrote on her Facebook page. "I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I will just never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle. #I'm Sorry." Megan Fox has over 39 million likes on Facebook.
