For what appeared to be an anti-Soviet propaganda movie, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." is reportedly being embraced in Russia after it garnered box-office sales more than the U.K. market.

Deadline reported that the big markets which "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" dominated last weekend were Spain, Australia, Germany, the U.K. and Russia.

As a movie that tackled the rising Cold War between the U.S. and Russia back in the 1960s, does this Russian reception indicate some changing opinion?

According to the report, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E. gained $1.2 million on 1,804 screens in Russia, not to mention a 60 percent share after two days. This figure is reportedly more than "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation."

"The Man From U.N.C.L.E." tells the story of CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Ilya Kuryakin in their mission to stop a criminal organization from producing nuclear weapons. The film is set in the early 1960s, the time when the Cold War was heating up.

The movie was an abundance of eye candies and spectacles - from the 1960s fashion, the cars, the action and the actors themselves.

In the U.K., "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" garnered $749,000 at 505 screening venues and IMAX theaters, Deadline further reported. This figure is reportedly credited to the Guy Ritchie's fan base in the Western European nation, which is founded on the "Sherlock Holmes" movie and past action films.

"The Man From U.N.C.L.E." is reportedly going against "Rogue Nation" at third place in the British box-office.

Meanwhile, the Australian market made $264,000 from "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." played at 289 venues and produce a running total of $472,000 within some two days, Deadline added.

In Spain, the movie opened at $183,000 and $258,000 in Germany.

"The Man From U.N.C.L.E." is a stylish 1960s film featuring actors such as Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Debicki.

This 1960s film follows another grand production by Warner Bros from "The Great Gatsby," a movie set in the 1920s shown worldwide in 2013.
