Want to work as a cashier at McDonald's? Well the job is yours as long as you have a Bachelor's degree and between one and two years of experience, according to a recent McDonald's job posting.

The Winchendon, Massachusetts, restaurant was hiring a cashier and asking for candidates to have a Bachelor's degree and between one and two years of experience, reports Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner.

"With colleges producing more graduates, and youth unemployment at a sky-high 11.5 percent, even landing a job selling Big Macs is getting competitive," Bedard writes.  Here's the job posting on JobDiagnosis.com.

"Friendly people wanted to smile while serving lots of guests daily," it declares. "Get a weekly paycheck with a side order of food, folks and fun."

The posting also promies of "flexible hours," "affordable health, vision and dental insurance" and even "free uniforms."

WFXT-TV, Boston's Fox affiliate, notes that the independent Winchendon, Mass. McDonald's franchise may not actually expect to hire such qualified applicants. As the Washington Examiner observes, the same McDonald's franchise also advertises jobs in Spanish.

In a statement, the franchise owners denied requiring a bachelor's degree for the position:

"There has been some misinformation reported by an independent job site with no relationship to the Winchendon, Massachusetts McDonald's.  The original job posting did not require a bachelor's degree and we do not require a bachelor's degree for employment.  Our organization is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse work force," the statement read.
