Food Porn reaches a whole new level with Google map's possible navigating capability!

Excited to try out a new dish you've seen on your Instagram or Twitter but you have no idea where can you find it or which restaurant made it? Google Maps might just be able to take you there, soon.

Google is said to have been "cooking up" a feature for Google Maps that will help people navigate restaurants and food hubs through the photos posted online.

"Google is apparently testing a new feature in Maps for uploading food-related photos," claimed Android Police.

The drill is simple: snap a photo of whatever food or drink you found worthy to be shared online. A notification then appears and asks you to tag it to the location of the restaurant where you took it. Once posted on public, others may go through the incredible food experience that you just had.

This is Google's way of keeping up with its commitment to food photography after shutting down Tablescape in June, an app that enables users to post food photos on Google+.

The conceived development of Google Maps may also open vast business possibilities as food establishments and the likes will be packed with more useful information for the gourmands and gourmets in town.

"The move follows Google's increasing interest in becoming a better place to connect consumers with restaurants by providing more than just standard business info and maps," alleged Techcrunch.

However, Android Police revealed that the feature is still being tested with Google Local Guides who are on a 3rd level status or those users who have written at least 50 reviews. And there is no word yet about its wider public consumption.

In an interview with Techcrunch, a Google spokesperson said "We have no further announcement plans to make at this time."

"So while it's not a full-fledged app, it seems like Google has found a smart and useful way to keep food photography in the fold after all," Android Police wrote.

This feature on Google Maps may not only delight others by seeing the sumptuous food that you ate. They might also get a taste of it, soon!
