Sep 06, 2015 11:21 PM EDT | By Sherylyn Toda

Eva Mendes' appearance in the previous installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise was certainly a hit.

Howeve, for some reason she did not return in the franchise, but speculations now suggest that Eva Mendes, who played the role of secret agent Monica Fuentes in "2 Fast 2 Furious" is indeed going to return for "Fast & Furious 7" sequel.

While Ryan Gosling's partner has yet to confirm or deny the reports, Breathecast pointed out that there are actually a number of publications claiming Mendes' return in the franchise.

Her role is said to "stir up" the relationship of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).

Eva Mendes was once Brian O'Conner's (Paul Walker) love interest in the second installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise.

And while Vin Diesel has yet to settle the score with this new report, he did however confirm that "Furious 8" is indeed happening.

Additionally, Jason Statham, who played the main villain in the seventh installment of the sequel, also confirmed that the eighth film is happening and his character, Deckard Shaw, is coming back as well.

"We're already talking about doing another one, part eight," Statham told Access Hollywood. "I'm a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it's nice to know I'm going to be doing another."

Another new comer, well sort of, is also reportedly going to return for "Fast & Furious 7" sequel.

Cody Walker, who replaced his brother Paul Walker, in the movie is said to return, but now he's going to play a character of his own.

While this has yet to be proven, it can be remembered that Cody expressed his interest in pursuing his acting career.

"I'm not sure if they are going to make an eighth movie, but if they did, I'm sure he would entertain a conversation (about a role)," he told NYDailyNews according to Enstarz.

IB Times on the other hand claimed that Cody could play someone who's related to Brian O'Conner's.

Mail Online added that Cody could indeed "join the crew."

"Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew as a new character. Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way. It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and The Furious movies."
