Now that "NCIS" season 13 draws near, fans are starting to get more excited about the show's plot.

And according to the latest spoilers, Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will need the help of his trusted protege Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg revealed to TV Fanatic that Mark Harmon will get to see major changes with his character both physically and emotionally.

"He's shot in the chest, he has his knee replaced," Glasberg explained. "It's an eye opener for him because the Gibbs character literally has to step back and say 'how many more lives does this cat have?' How much more can he live through and if he isn't around to take care of his family, then what happens to his family?"

Moreover, Glasberg explained that fans will get to see Agent Gibbs batlling depression as "NCIS" season 13 progress.

More spoilers alert!

"That's what we're going to see as the season progresses is you're going to see a change in Gibbs."

Adding, "You're going to see a physical change and an emotional change and Mark Harmon is really diving into that and making it unique. It's been exciting to watch and we've got some really emotional stuff coming up from him."

But while Agent Gibbs will turn to DiNozzo for support in "NCIS" season 13, showrunner Glasberg reveal more possible spoilers explaining that DiNozzo taking over the team may also impose a conflict between the two partners.

"Gibbs and Tony are really going to feel some tension between the two of them," he said. Gibbs is putting tremendous pressure on Tony. Having survived this, Gibbs really wants to know if this is what Tony wants. Does he want to be the leader? Does he want to be, in essence, to become Gibbs?"

More "NCIS" season 13 spoilers suggest that a well-loved character who left the show during season 11 is going to return for this seaon.

Apparently, Cote de Pablo, who played the role of Agent Ziva David, has teased her return for season 13.

Talking to TVLine, the 35-year-old Chilean-American actress talked about her character Ziva and a possible return to "NCIS."

"I think the fact that they never killed the character off is very telling," de Pablo teased. "Under the right circumstances, I think it could definitely be explored."

"NCIS" season 13 premiere episode will debut on Sept. 22 at 8pm on CBS.
