While the exact release date for "Mafia 3" has yet to be announced, the game is confirmed to come next year.

And during 2015 GamesCom, 2K Games released the first ever trailer of the game together as it introduced the new lead character.

Following the events of "Mafia 2," the third installment of the gaming franchise is said to feature a whole new different story.

According to IGN "Mafia 3" is set in 1968 in the "deep south of New Orleans," a place where "violent racism was a part of everyday life."

Moreover, the new lead character namely, Lincoln Clay who is described to be "half-black, half-white" will reportedly open a new perspective to the game as it tackles racism and vengeance.

Apparently, Lincoln Clay's race will play a very important role in the game's story.

After being left for dead, Clay will reportedly plan his revenge against the Italian Mob.

"After returning home from the war, and finding a new family in the 'Black mob,' he once again loses it when the Italian mob wipes them out, shoots Clay in the head, and leaves him for dead," IGN reported.

"And he takes all these anti-hero ingredients and plays the part brutally well, unleashing a rampage of pissed-off vengeance that devastates the Italian Mob and creates a power vacuum for organized crime in the city. A space Clay is more than willing to fill."

In addition to vengeance and racism, "Mafia 3" will also feature other aspects of Mafia world come its release date.

Players will reportedly get the chance to work with other gang leaders as Lincoln Clay try to build his empire.

"Cassandra and her Haitians, Burke and his Irish, and the protagonist from 'Mafia 2,' Vito Scaletta, who lends his faction of Italians. These three lieutenants will grant you special abilities and unlocks if you show them favor, or bicker and betray if they feel you're giving away their piece of this new crime pie."

While the release date has yet to be set, the new trailer launched at the GamesCom reportedly hinted "Mafia 3" release.

"Today's trailer confirms the Mafia 3 release date for 2016," Gotta Mobile confirmed. "This means that fans of the series won't be able to play the third-installment this holiday season and it means that we might have a long way to go before we see this game hit shelves.
