Bradley James’ ‘Damien’ TV Series Will ‘Piss A Lot Of People Off?’ Find Out Why!

| By

"Merlin" star Bradley James's "Damien" TV series might just get a lot of hate from the TV-viewing public, according to the show's producer.

"I love the first movie," the show's developer Glen Mazzara reportedly revealed to the Comic Con International audience rencently, according to Comicbook Resources, "but the second and third pushed him along this arc. But I loved that kid from the first film, I wanted to know what happened to that kid. So now we get to see what's he's like 25 years later - which we picked intentionally because it means that Damien is 30. Christ really started his journey when he was 30."

The "Walking Dead" executive producer also added that this new series might bring consequences because of the liberty in wielding the plotline from the Biblical source material.

"We're taking that Jesus story and twisting it on its head - which I'm sure is going to piss a lot of people off," he added.

Nevertheless, the series - scheduled to air next year - will reportedly be "very respectful" to the original 1976 horror classic.

"And things that happened in that film will have repercussions in our show," he continued.

The producer also added that Bradley James was perfect for "Damien," revealing that they "saw 666 actors, and a lot were very talented, but when we saw Bradley, we knew he was the guy."

This isn't the British actor's first time in a supernatural role. He recently stole and broke hearts as Lowell, Liv Moore's (Rose McIver) sweet zombie boyfriend who unfortunately died way too early in the CW series "iZombie." He also starred as King Arthur in the magic-filled BBC drama "Merlin."

He has tried being a medieval King, a zombie, and an antichrist. He'll be trying his hand at being a vampire or a werewolf as well.

According to Deadline, he landed a villain role opposite Kate Beckinsale and Theo James for "Underworld 5." Filming will reportedly start next month in Prague.
