Is Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's marriage hitting rock bottom?

The "Vampire Diaries" star reportedly wants to have children but Nikki Reed isn't ready yet and wants to focus on her career first, which hasn't taken flight as much as she wanted, following "Twilight."

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's marriage appear to be very happy in their social media accounts, the newlyweds regularly posting cute selfies together and expressing their mutual love for animals.

But behind closed doors, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed reportedly can't seem to agree on whether or not they want to have kids.

In an ET Online interview, Ian Somerhalder gushed about his married life with Nikki Reed.

Asked if he wanted kids, the 36-year-old couldn't help but express his excitement.

"Oh, hell yes! Absolutely," Somerhalder said. "You know, it's all about practice... It's not practice makes perfect - it's perfect practice."

Adding, "I'm actually pregnant right now!" he joked, then went on a little more seriously. "It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something. It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."

On the other hand, reports say Nikki Reed feels that having a baby at this point in time is a bad choice for both herself and Ian.

"Nikki is actually savvy when it comes to navigating Hollywood," Celeb Dirty Laundry reported. "Having a baby right now would not be wise for her career, especially after rocketing toward stardom after her 'Twilight' success."

According to the website, Nikki Reed is also trying to convince Ian Somerhalder to quit "Vampire Diaries" to end all his associations with Nina Dobrev and go for bigger and better roles in movies.
