Daytime Cafe 'First Watch' Expands Near University of Kentucky

Daytime cafe First Watch has expanded near the University of Kentucky according to restuarantnews.com.

"First Watch has had a great year in Lexington," said Kevin Hall, First Watch vice president of franchising for First Watch. "With a proven partner like Holland Rosen Group, this second location will build off our success in the area and introduce even more Lexington residents to our fresh approach to Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch."

The location is the daytime cafe's second in the Lexington area since its first one arrived less than a year ago, and is situated in the Simpson Center by the UK campus, 1080 South Broadway Rd. Restaurant News reported. 

According to Restaurant News, the company plans to build up to eight more throughout Lexington and Louisville over the next five years as part of a multi-unit franchise agreement.

"We are very excited about our new location on South Broadway," Gary Holland of Holland Rosen Group, LLC told Restaurant News. "We believe this will provide a convenient location to our customers that work downtown and go to UK. The new restaurant will provide more outdoor dining as well." 25 people are employed at the 3,500 square-foot restaurant 

First Watch offers breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. according to the company website. Complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi are also available to customers.

Customers can choose from omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, and salads Restaurant News reported. The company also offers specialty items like chickichanga's, and fresh fruit crepes at its over 110 restaurant locations in 15 states. 

The company is also in process of building additional units as it continues to grow Restaurant News reported. The company first came to the Lexington area last September with a location at 3071 Richmond Rd.
