Sep 19, 2015 10:17 PM EDT | By Sherylyn Toda

Despite having a really busy schedule, Damon Albarn is making time to finally move forward with the long-awaited new album for Gorillaz.

Following the 2015 2D launch of Murdoc, Noodle and Russel on Jamie Hewlett's Instagram account, the animated band has reportedly started gearing up for their new album.

While everything remained as speculation, Damon Albarn, who at that time was busy on Tour with his other band, Blur, surprisingly confirmed that Gorillaz is indeed coming up with a new record.

And assumingly the production has already started following Albarn's previous statement with ABC News.

"I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record," Albarn admitted of Gorillaz new record. "I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance."

He also added that like fans, he longed for going back in studio to create new music for Gorillaz.

"I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week."

But while he confirmed the plans of making a new album, Damon Albarn has however failed to mention when the band is planning the release date, instead there are speculations claiming that it's possible to happen next year.

In addition to Gorillaz, Damon Albarn is has also apparently been working on another album that is not his.

In an interview with The Guardian, Albarn revealed that he got the chance to work with Grammy award winner, Adele.

Apparently, Albard already heard some of the tracks in Adele's new album and he described it as "very middle of the road."

"I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse," he said. "It's very middle of the road."

And even before he could get to work on a new album for Gorillaz, Albarn reveled that he collaborated five tracks to Adele's new record, he however doubts if it'll ever make it to final cut.

"Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her," he explained. "And I'm not a producer, so ... I don't know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so. Let's wait and see. The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."
