Following the highly successful finale of season1, tonight's episode will see the continuation of Gotham where season 2 episode 1 will feature the first of the trilogy of "Rise of the Villains.
Apparently, the premiere episode will see James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) dealing with the King of Gotham as he joins Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) as coerced by Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).
Meanwhile, Harvey (Donal Logue) is seen in a bar after being suspended.
This episode will also see the glimpse of Gotham's newest villains like Barbara (Erin Richards) and Jerome aka Joker (Cameron Monaghan), who will in turn pose a threat to Penguin's power over the city. Season 2 will also see the rise of Theo Galavan (James Frain), the man behind the evil plans of Barbara and Jerome.
We Got This Covered reported that season 2 will also see the rise of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), who will get herself inside Gotham's dirtiest crime scene.
And according to International Business Times, this season will finally see the story of Bruce slowly turning into Dark Knight as he discovered a letter from his murdered father.

"Season 2 opens with Penguin being asked for help from an unlikely source: Gordon, whose moral compass is out of whack following a shakeup in the police department. In other events, Bruce explores secrets from his father's office; and two newcomers are befriended by inmates from Arkham."
