"Fifty Shades of Grey" fans reportedly want actress Alexis Bledel and actor Matt Bomer rather than Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam to star in the erotic book's upcoming movie release.

According to a petition on change.org, Bomer and Bledel have been petitioned to play the book's main characters, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

"We want Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades," the petition said. "Matt Bomer is the perfect description of Christian Grey and Alexis Bledel is the perfect actress to represent Anastasia Steel and if they are not, nobody will be. And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please please, all of the Grey-sessed and Bomerettes in the world need those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. We can do anything guys, anything."

The document had 24,997 signatures as of Wednesday afternoon.

The news comes after "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James announced Monday, Johnson and Hunnam would play the roles.

According to Us Weekly, Bomer and Bledel have long been anticipated for the leading roles. Fan made false trailers online to market the two stars for the movie. Bledel told ELLE she was happy and shocked about the videos.

"People definitely do have strong opinions about it," she said. "I guess when people really identify with a concept, they feel strongly about it."

Bomer told "Access Hollywood" he was going to look into the book and movie in order to find out more about it.

"It sounds amazing, and from what I hear, people are really into the story so I gotta check it out," he said.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie co-producer Dana Brunetti told fans on Twitter Monday, the decision is not changing.

"There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc. So if your favorite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective."

Micheal De Luca is also producing the movie, which is scheduled to be released next August.
