McAlister's Deli Adds 17 Restaurants in Indiana, South Carolina, and Georgia

McAlister's Deli is adding 17 restaurants in three states.

The company recently unveiled plans Monday to open restaurants in Indiana, South Carolina and Georgia in a deal that involves new multi-unit development agreements with two franchise companies.

McAlister's Deli President and CEO, Frank Paci, told Restaurant News he's looking forward to the new partnership.

"We are pleased that our existing franchisees are continuing to expand with McAlister's Deli," he said. "Their commitment to develop demonstrates their confidence in the brand's strength and its ability to provide franchisees with an attractive investment."

One firm, McIndy Ventures, LLC, which currently franchises 16 of McAlister's restaurants, is set to develop 14 new restaurants in Indiana with the first expected to open in the last fiscal quarter of next year.

Charles Hensley, owner of McIndy told Restaurant News the group is excited to begin.

"We appreciate the great response we have received thus far in Indiana and look forward to introducing new guests to our great food and genuine hospitality," he said. "With this new development agreement, we will almost double our presence in the state and plan to open the first location in late 2014."

Another franchisee with McAlister's, DMAC81, LLC, will open three restaurants in Georgia and South Carolina with the first location expected to open in the second quarter of 2014 in Georgia. Dale Mulvey, owner of DMAC81, LLC said he is happy about the opportunity to impact McAlister's new municipalities.

"We are excited to announce our new locations and look forward to serving new communities starting next year," he said. "Our expansion will begin with a location in Pooler, GA with additional growth to follow."

McAlister's is known for its sandwiches, spud potatoes, soups, salads, desserts, and sweet tea. Customers can also take advantage of the company's dine-in and take-out service, and catering options which include sandwich trays, box lunches, desserts, and a hot potato bar.

The franchise restaurant company has over 320 restaurants in 23 states.
