A few weeks ago, Andrew Garfield revealed that playing Spider-Man has greatly affected his life but he didn't give much detail about it.

"There were beautiful things about it and also privileged things about it which I struggled with and then some really disenchanting things that happened," he told The Independent.

Just recently, the 32-year-old actor finally opened up his real feelings towards the portrayal of the iconic Marvel superhero.

"To be honest, taking Spider-Man felt like I was taking control of my path, in a weird way," he confessed to USA Today. "I always wanted to be that character since I was 3 years old. That was absolutely part of my path."

Andrew Garfield gained fame for playing Peter Parker in "The Amazing Spider-Man" film series where he co-starred with his girlfriend Emma Stone.

The British heartthrob has been followed by the paparazzi ever since he played the web-slinging superhero and the attention may have been too much for him to handle.

"Having a relationship with the public is very confusing to me, maybe as an English person because I can't do the - I'm not very good at the Twitter," he admitted. "I really struggle with (promotion). I really want my work to be seen. I want people to see work I do, that's important to me. Because that feels like the best representation of who I am."

Most Hollywood superstars are active in social media and they use it to help boost their career, but this isn't the case for the stage actor.

"This idea of campaigning and getting followers and being liked - I'm a mess," Garfield explained. "Like everybody else, I'm just struggling through trying to make sense of this weirdness we're all in, the weirdness of being alive."

Now that Tom Holland will be stepping in as the new Peter Parker, Andrew Garfield finally revealed that he feels lost after his "Spider-Man" days.

"I'm not OK. I am not OK. That feels really good to say to you," he told the interviewer. "I'm really not all right. I'm in the struggle of being a person. I haven't got anything figured out."
