AMC announced the plot, release date and other details of the "Fear the Walking Dead" web series "Flight 462" but episode 3 of the spinoff may have already teased the upcoming special.
Variety reported earlier this week that the web series will be officially called "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462."
The series premiere on Oct. 4 will first come out on AMC.com "and will then air during two commercial breaks during 'The Walking Dead's' season 6 premiere on Oct. 11," Variety said.
After the premiere, subsequent minute-long episodes will premiere every Sunday both online and during "TWD."
As Franchise Herald previously reported, the web series is set on a plane flying to Los Angeles at the onset of the zombie outbreak. One of "Flight 462's" characters will join the cast of "FTWD" season 2.
"Over the course of the series, the plane and the lives of its passengers are put in jeopardy once they discover an infected traveller," AMC said in a blog post.
Details on the "Fear the Walking Dead" web series may have only come to light recently but the spinoff's episode 3, titled "The Dog," may have already teased the special.
In the episode, Nick (Frank Dillane) was looking for drugs in their neighbors' houses. During his rounds, a little girl waves at him while he's breaking into a house. He then leaves for another house but stops as he hears a plane flying overhead.
Nick runs onto the street to get a better view. The plane maneuvers oddly in the sky then flies at an angle.
"Could this indicate that the plane is in distress?" The Inquisitr asked.
"Could it be the plane that will be used in the 'Fear the Walking Dead' standalone special?"
Fans won't have to wait long to find out.
Written by Mike Zuni and L. Signorino and directed by Michael McDonough, the "Fear the Walking Dead" web series "Flight 462" premieres Oct. 4. "FTWD" returns the same day for its season finale "The Good Man."
