Ed Sheeran is known to be quite private about his girlfriends.
He hasn't even confirmed if Cherry Seaborn, whom he was spotted spending time with in New York last month, really is his new girl or not.
Even though he doesn't see himself as a handsome fellow, he still has been making girls swoon with his love songs and singing talent ever since he broke into the industry. What exactly is his secret?
According to the "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker's interview with Stephen Colbert, his appeal was actually God-given to compensate for his weirdness.
He and another talented musician, Bill Withers, appeared on the show to promote the upcoming charity show which will benefit Stuttering Association for the Young.
"I was a very odd child," he told "The Late Show" host, adding that he used to wear such "big, big blue National Health glasses." He also lost an eardrum in one ear as a result of an operation to remove an unwanted birthmark on his face.
According to the British acoustic star, his musical talent saved him from being an "odd child" that also can't get girls.
"The reason I became a musician is God looked down and said, 'You probably need some help getting laid,'" he added, which prompted Colbert to shake his hand.
"Now that's what you call going from ginger to a ginger snap!" Withers couldn't help but chime in as well.
Without his musical talent, Ed Sheeran doesn't seem to think he'd be able to get a girlfriend.
Oddly enough, Sheeran found it awkward to serenade or sing to his former flame, Athina Andrelos. Does he also feel awkward singing to Seaborn? Perhaps she's more relaxed about it since they've already known each other since high school?
As if to prove that his voice is his ultimate charm, the "Photograph" singer once again impressed viewers with his version of Bill Wither's famous hit, "Ain't No Sunshine."
Does Ed Sheeran need to sing to get a girlfriend or will his wit and humor do the job already?
