'Arrow' Season 4 Release Date, Spoiler & More: Comic Books Are Not To-Do List Says EP Guggenheim

"Arrow" season 4 release date is merely a day away and in this new season, the CW Network superhero series will finally embrace the 'real' persona of the Emerald Archer.

Earlier "Arrow" season 4 spoilers claimed the usually-stiffed Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will be more light hearted and fun now, just like what he is in the comics.

While this is a welcome development for many fans of the DC character, executive producer Marc Guggenheim wants them to manage their expectations about the incorporation of comic elements. This is because although the show is based on comic books, that does not mean they should follow them 100 percent.

"I think a lot of fans think we've got a checklist of the comic book tropes, like the chili, and the jokes, and the romance with Black Canary, and go, 'OK, we've got that, we've got that, we've got that,'" Guggenheim told Comic Book Resources.

"It's really just, we've got the comics in the back of our mind, we know where we're headed with the character -- the comic books are there as inspiration, but not as a to-do list."

Guggenheim also discussed how the Arrow will turn into "Green Arrow" this season.

"We were always very upfront about our intention that this was an origin story," he said. "We were very deliberate in our choice of, 'He's not the Arrow, he's 'The Hood' at first,' then he becomes the Arrow, and eventually he was going to become the Green Arrow. We didn't have a specific season in mind as to when it would happen, but certainly, for us, it felt very organic to make this the season that [he becomes] Green Arrow."

"Arrow" season 4 release date is Oct. 7 and the pilot episode will pick up just a few months since the events in the third season's finale. Oliver will return to a devastated Starling City which is facing a new darker villain in Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

With these changes, who's not excited for "Arrow" season 4 release date?
