‘Hellboy’ Star Ron Perlman Joining ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ As A What?

Academy Award winning actor Eddie Redmayne will be taking on his most commercially high-profile role in the "Harry Potter" spinoff, "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them."

Other high-profile actors will join the highly-anticipated trilogy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ron Perlman, best known for the "Hellboy" films and the TV series "Sons Of Anarchy," will be joining the "The Danish Girl" star in Warner Brothers' new fantasy movie.

Unlike previously announced cast members, who are portraying some kind of witch or wizard, Perlman will be taking on a goblin - the same creatures that guard Gringotts bank with their lives.

CinemaBlend suggested that a "fair amount of special effects make-up" would be needed to turn the actor into a goblin. As fans know, the creatures are quite short in the "Harry Potter" universe. Then again, Perlman is already well-acquainted with make-up and special effects. He did act as a red, horn-trimmed demon in all of the "Hellboy" films.

If the JK Rowling-penned film will indeed follow the feel of the successful franchise, then fans can expect a sulky, generally unfriendly Ron Perlman like Griphook in the last movie.

However, there's still no confirmation of how he and Eddie Redmayne will be linked to each other in "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them."

In the previous "Potter" films, Warwick Davis portrayed the goblin Griphook, who accompanied Harry and Hagrid to the former's vault in Gringotts in "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone." He was also the one who helped Harry, Hermione and Ron break into the said bank in "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2."

Aside from Perlman, the first of the epic trilogy boasts several big names in the film industry. Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Dan Folger, Samantha Morton and Katherine Waterston will be joined not only be Perlman but by Jon Voight, Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo as well.

Helmed by "Potter" veteran David Yates, with a screenplay written by JK Rowling herself, "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" will premiere on Nov. 18, 2015.
