Samsung ATIV 5 Release Date: New Device Hits AT&T Stores Nov. 8 (PHOTO)

In order to compete with its rivals, Samsung's ATIV 5 Neo smartphone hits AT&T stores Nov. 8 the company in a press release on its website.

"We are excited to add the Samsung ATIV S Neo with its large, sharp 4.77" HD display and expandable micro SD memory to our best-in-class Windows Phone portfolio," Jeff Bradley AT&T senior vice president of devices said in a statement.

The new device will be AT&T's first device with the Windows 8 operating system on a Samsung smartphone, which runs on a 4G LTE network.

Consumers will be able to purchase the device for $99.99 with a two year agreement. AT&T Next customers will be able to pay it off at $21 a month.

The new device will have a big and clear 4.77" high definition display, an eight megapixel camera with LED (light-emitting diode) capable of filming a maximum of up to 1080 progressive high definition video, and a 1.9 megapixel camera sensor.

It also comes equipped with 16 gigabytes of memory, a micro SD insert on its outside that can store up to 64 gigabytes of data, five gigabytes of online cloud storage from AT&T Locker at no cost, a 1.4 gigahertz dual-core processor, and an ATIV beam for sending files from other phones that work with the feature. Another aspect is Live Tiles, which users can obtain up to date information from about people, place, songs, photos, and apps the release reported.

Users will also be able to select from over 175,000 apps available for Windows Phones.

These include the Microsoft Office suite, which has already been installed on the devices.

Game enthusiasts and others will also get to play the likes of "Halo: Spartan Assault."

This can be downloaded from the windows phone store, which also grants users the ability to test apps before purchasing the release reported.
