LG Nexus smartphone addicts could have a new device in their hands if the company releases its new Nexus 5 in the United States on Oct. 31 Hothardware.com reported Friday.

"We've received a pretty credible-looking press image for the TELUS version of the Nexus 5, complete with a carrier-branded splash screen," canadian technology blog Mobile Syrup said. "Unfortunately, that's all we have in terms of information - no pricing or availability to speak of - though we expected the device to come unlocked and receive updates directly from Google, just like the Nexus 4.

The Halloween release date has not been made official however as Hot Hardware believes prior unofficial unveilings of the device which hinted at an October time frame, and the unavailability of the previous model, will make Google release the phone on the predicted date.

The phone is then expected to arrive to mobile carriers in Canada Nov. 7 or Nov. 8. Consumers can find the phone on Rogers, Bell, Telus, Koodo, and Virgin.

Demand for the phone is high since consumers cannot buy its previous model, the Nexus from Google Play in 8 gigabytes, and 16 gigabytes because they are sold out Hot Hardware reported, and are not expected to be re-stocked.

According to Hot Hardware, Google employees uploaded information about the new phone's 16 gigabyte model, last week which listed a price of $349.

Consumers were not able to place orders for the device as Google took off the leak before the day ended.

Mobile Syrup also reviewed Google's new startup menu entitled the Google Experience on the Android 4.4 Kit Kat, also due out later this month, which features transparent navigation and menu bars.

Users will also see wallpaper on there screen rather than a normal ordinary black background.

There is also an icon, which raised concern about its placement on the phone's screen.
