"My nose ring fell out, and it won't go back in. oh well, I guess some things are just not meant to be..." the young artist captioned an Instagram selfie with no nose ring (which he allegedly got as a couple activity with Becky G) in sight.
Despite clarifying that they were still friends after the split, some of the "Shower" hitmaker's controversial posts on social media made people think that her heartthrob former beau already found someone new to replace her.
The 19-year-old teen sensation also stirred up some rumors when he reportedly started flirting with up and coming singer Brie Angellina on Instagram.
Now that the dust has settled, it seems that Austin Mahone and Becky G have found their way back to each other again. Could they have felt their fondness for each other grow with the months that they spent apart?
One of the "Break A Sweat" singer's cryptic tweets seemed to have suggested as much.
"The best way to appreciate something is to be without it for a while. :)" she posted in late September, making her followers assume that she had somehow gotten back together with Mahone.
According to Latin Post, Becky G's posts were mostly speculated to be pertaining to her recently ended relationship with the "Dirty Work" singer. She never addressed the singer directly until early this October when she promoted Mahone's new song, "Put It On Me."
The former couple then started publicly flirting with each other on Twitter again.
"If you ain't watching @iambeckyg new video for #BreakASweat then what are you doing??" the "Put It On Me" singer tweeted a few days after Becky G promoted his music. She then replied with "thanks cutie."
