EOS USA, a provider of customer care and receivables management services, has opened a new flagship customer-service call center at Somerset, Kentucky, according to a report from The Lane Report.

The new call center office provides the Pulaski County with 150 jobs.

The Lane Report adds that Gov. Steve Beshear said during the ribbon cutting ceremony that EOS USA is a great addition to the county and the commonwealth.

"It says a lot about the community and the opportunities offered by the state that the company has chosen Somerset for its flagship customer care call center," he said.

Rep. Hal Rogers adds during the ribbon cutting ceremony that they are thrilled with the investment that EOS USA is making in the region and "instilling confidence in their workforce," according to The Lane Report.

"With the implementation of high-speed, high-capacity broadband coming to our region, southern and eastern Kentucky will soon be able to accommodate any high-tech business in the county of their choice," he said.

The Lane Report adds that EOS USA has chosen Somerset to establish its flagship call center due to the city's economical operating costs and skilled workforce.

The company leased a 20,000 square foot facility in Valley Oak Technology Complex.

Area Development adds that the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives of up to $2 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program.

The tax incentive was for companies to be encouraged to invest in the community and add jobs.

Area Development adds that the incentive is performance-based wherein companies are allowed to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments.

Companies would just need to meet the job and investment targets to receive the incentives.

In addition to the tax incentive, EOS USA is also eligible to receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network, according to Area Development.

Companies receive no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives through the Kentucky Skills Network.

EOS USA is a subsidiary of EOS Group, a German-based company that is a worldwide leader in the receivables management and outsourcing industry, according to The Lane Report.

The Group operates 50 companies in 26 countries and has more than 9,000 employees.

The Lane Report adds that EOS USA employs nearly 1,200 people in North America.
