Nov 08, 2013 01:00 PM EST | By Justin Stock

A Home Depot employee has been fired after posting a tweet deemed 'racist' the examiner reported Friday.

"@OfficiallyIce @NAACP "We are deeply sorry for the dumb tweet and have deleted it," the company said on its Twitter account. "We have zero tolerance for anything so stupid and offensive. Deeply sorry. We terminated agency and individual who posted it."

The post asked: "Which drummer is not like the others? See more @CollegeGameDay pics at hdgameday.com #HDgameday #football," and showed a photo of a man in a monkey mask, in the middle of two african american men. Readers were then asked which one wasn't like the others shown in the picture the examiner reported."

"We're also closely reviewing our social media procedures to determine how this could have happened, and how to ensure it never happens again," Home Depot spokesman Stephen Holmes said in a statement The Atlantic Journal Constitution reported.

Several twitter users took to the social media platform to express their opinion about the situation.

"I wouldn't have even been in that home depot pic if I were one of those black guys lol," Twitter user Adam D @thaoriginalman said in a post on his account.

"You guys made that Home Depot tweet out of nothing you ppl just as worse," Esco @Esco_CNK said in their post.

"Sorry yall... can't find it in my soul to feel any type of outrage about Home Depot. It wasn't funny, but it wasn't offensive to me either," Petty Mayonnaise @brownandbella said in a post on her account.

"Just emailed the Home Depot PR Dept. They are responsible for HD's social media accts. Asked that the poster of that racist tweet be fired," Twitter user Baé•nk$y @elle_emm_aitch said.

"Yall r really mad over that home depot tweet huh? I get it but its not that serious imo. Theres other stuff to worry about," Krissy Stone @KrissyStone11 said.
