Drew Barrymore Thinks Adam Sandler Was 'Hot Sh*t!' & Went On A Blind Date Before Making Movies Together?

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler's movies are probably some of the most loved rom-coms of our time.

It's been years since Barrymore and Sandler got together on-screen for the first time in the 1998 film, "The Wedding Singer" but the 40-year-old actress remembered her first meeting with the comedian very well.

At that point in time, Drew Barrymore was at bleak part of her career and wanted to meet up with Adam Sandler to convince him that they should make a movie together. However, as soon as she saw the actor, Barrymore thought they were mismatched.

"We looked like the worst blind date you've ever seen," the actress told People Magazine. "I showed up with purple hair and a leopard coat and he was in his classic cargo pants."

"As soon as I saw him I was like 'Yeah you're going to have to see past all this,'" Barrymore laughed.

Asked of how she convinced the actor, Barrymore said she "spoke from the heart."

"I said, I really believe that you and I could get together and do something meaningful," she said. "He was hot s--- and he believed in me,"

After "The Wedding Singer," Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler starred in two other movies together - "50 First Dates" in 2004 and "Blended" in 2014.

Despite developing a close friendship together, Barrymore and Sandler never dated.

"Not even a little! Not even like, as we say in The Wedding Singer, 'Church tongue.' Nothing, really," Barrymore said when asked whether she and the actor ever hooked up in a 2014 "Chelsea Lately" interview.

"One night I screamed, 'Please look at it!'" Sandler said of his private parts. "No, we always just hung out and had a good time. We always socialized, but we never, it's good."

"That's probably why we've been able to stick together all these years because there never was that awkward moment," Barrymore added.
