Katy Perry Beats Taylor Swift In Forbes Highest Paid Musician; Are They Friends Again?

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift friends... never?

Bad blood between the two pop stars had run way too long that some might say it's time to bury the hatchet. But after Katy Perry beat Taylor Swift in Forbes' recent Highest-Paid Women In Music list, would they ever be friends again?

Taylor Swift is the Queen Bee of the music industry right now - some reports even claim she's a "mean girl" who likes starting feuds with those who cross her.

Among them is Katy Perry, who used to be friends with Taylor Swift until the "California Girls" singer allegedly tried to hire dancers off Swift, reportedly almost ruining the "Blank Space" singer's entire tour.

Taylor Swift's squad has rallied to her side in her "Bad Blood" music video and it may look like she had won against Katy Perry at that angle but in terms of this year's money bags, the "Katycats" got it.

Forbes recently released the list for the World's Highest-Paid Women In Music 2015, naming Katy Perry the top-earning songstress.

With Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour drawing to a close, she had reeled in $135 million this year, earning $2 million per city over the course of 126 shows in Forbes' scoring period.

To complete Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" of becoming a multi-millionaire, she's had deals with Coy. Claire's and Covergirl.

"I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company," Perry told Forbes in a previous interview. "I'm an entrepreneur. I don't want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls."

Last year, Katy Perry placed fifth, with $40 million, -- falling behind Taylor Swift, who was at No. 1.

This year, however, Taylor Swift claimed the No. 2 spot with $80 million (less than two-thirds of Katy Perry's earnings). Most of her earnings could be attributed to her chart-topping album, "1989" which sold 3.6 million copies worldwide (amid her strict no-Spotify rule) as well as her shows and tours, wherein she earns about $4 million per city.

On the No. 3 spot is Fleetwood Mac at $59.5 million, Lady Gaga at No. 4 with $59 million and Beyoncé placed fifth with $54.5 million this year.

Just recently, Taylor Swift belied rumors that "Bad Blood" was about Katy Perry or any former friends of hers in particular.

"I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that," Swift said.
