PlayStation 4 Release Date: Game Console Almost Sold Out in United Kingdom

Recently launched in the United Kingdom, Sony's Playstation 4 game console is almost out of stock BBC News reported Friday.

"We are starting to sell out - very rapidly but [we] will continue to work with all parts of the supply chain including our partners at retail to get more, as and when we can," a Sony spokesman told BBC News.

The news comes a couple weeks after Sony released the game console in the United States where more than one million devices were sold.

The game console has eight x86 CPU-codes titled Jaguar, and is manufactured from Advanced Micro Devices according to Network World. It also comes equipped with upgraded graphics coprocessors capable of handling 1.84 teraflops of performance.

Consumers can expect the machine to also have 500 gigabyte hard drive that can play blu-ray DVDs. There are also eight gigabytes of GDDR5 memory or quick network speed random access memory found in graphics cards. Game makers put 176 gigabytes of network speed a second on the machine since they wanted the computer to run faster.

Consumers can also watch shows, movies, or play games on other gadgets and machines other than just the game console. People's real names rather than imaginary ones, can also be used. More people can also participate in competition in multi-player mode..

PlayStation 4 also comes equipped with 11 apps including Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus. Crackle, Crunchyroll, Epix, NBA Game Time, NHL GameCenter LIVE, Redbox Instant by Verizon, Vudu, and YuppTV.

Sony's previous game console models are the PSone, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 in various sizes. There is also the hand-held Playstation Vita.

PlayStation 4 users in the United States experienced a blue light of death on their, or a situation where a blinking light usually shows, and then switches into a white screen when operating normally.

"(It could be issues relating to the system's power supply and hard drive, as well as incompatibility issues with certain televisions,)" a Sony employee said in a troubleshooting guide forum about the device ABC News reported at the time the news surfaced. "We appreciate your patience while we investigate."
