Sony PlayStation 4: United Kingdom Sales Reach Over 250,000 in Two Days

Over two-hundred, and fifty thousand consumers bought Sony's new PlayStation 4 game console within a two-hour time span The Telegraph reported Monday. The high number has brought Sony $87 million in sales.

The news comes two weeks after the PS4 was launched in the United States, where it also had successes, selling more than a million devices within its initial 24 hours of it being on the market.

The game console has eight x86 CPU-codes titled Jaguar, and is manufactured from Advanced Micro Devices according to Network World. It also comes equipped with upgraded graphics coprocessors capable of handling 1.84 teraflops of performance.

The machine has 500 gigabyte hard drive that can play blu-ray DVDs. There are also eight gigabytes of GDDR5 memory or quick network speed random access memory found in graphics cards. Game makers put 176 gigabytes of network speed a second on the machine since they wanted the computer to run faster.

PlayStation 4 also comes equipped with 11 apps including Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus. Crackle, Crunchyroll, Epix, NBA Game Time, NHL GameCenter LIVE, Redbox Instant by Verizon, Vudu, and YuppTV.

Sony's previous game console models are the PSone, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 in various sizes. There is also the Playstation Vita, which users can hold by hand.
