Will Eva Mendes reprise her role in the upcoming "Fast & Furious 8" movie?

Mendes appeared as secret agent Monica Fuentes in "2 Fast 2 Furious," and now there are reports claiming that she is going to "stir up" the relationship of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).

The "Hitch" actress has yet to confirm the news, but according to Breathecast there are already a number of publications claiming Mendes' return in the franchise.

In addition to Mendes, Jason Statham, who played the role of Deckard Shawm is also reportedly going to make a come back as the villain in "Fast & Furious 8."

"We're already talking about doing another one, part eight," Statham told Access Hollywood. "I'm a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it's nice to know I'm going to be doing another."

And while fans are still waiting for further details about "Fast and Furious 8," Michelle Rodriguez gladly shared her knowledge about the sequel.

While it's expected that the sequel will continue the story where "Furious 7" left off, Rodriguez promised that "Fast and Furious 8" will be highly influenced by their co-star Paul Walker.

In an interview with People during UNITAS Gala Against Sex Trafficking in New York City, Rodriguez explained how the sequel will pay tribute to the late actor.

"[Paul] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing," Rodriguez revealed. "He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens."

Adding that it will skip the "exaggerated explosions and crazy plot lines," as it tries to remain "true to Paul's wishes."

The 37-year-old actress also explained Vin Diesel's statement when he said that "Fast & Furious 8" will remain true to "car audience."

"I think that's what Vin [Diesel] meant when [he said] his main focus on the next one will be trying to keep it true to that car audience," she said. "Hopefully we'll be able to do that cause it's gotten bigger than ever and you know we also have to stay true to that so it'll be a challenge."

"Fast and Furious 8" release date is set on April 14, 2017 with original cast returning to reprise their roles.
