Will Naughty Dog finally make the announcement?

Apparently, "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams has openly shared that she and the studio agree that she'll play the role of Ellie in the upcoming "The Last Of Us" movie adaptation.

The 18-year-old star revealed the details in an interview with Screen Rant.

"Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that's where it is at the moment," she explained. "There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to."

While it's too early to tell, Williams revealed that she already had meetings with the project executives making it more possible for her to take the role of Ellie in the movie.

"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," Williams previously admitted of her involvement in "The Last Of Us."

"They announced at Comic-Con that we had spoken about it, and since then in like every interview people have been asking me about it."

And while everything seems to be already all set in the planned movie adaptation, Naughty Dog is still reportedly focused on the upcoming "Uncharter 4: A Thief's End."

In an interview with Slash Film, Neil Druckmann said that while he continuesly thinks of "The Last of Us" movie adaptation, his focus remains to be in "Uncharted 4."

"When I'm in the office it's all Uncharted 4 all the time," he said. "When I should be sleeping, it's the [Last of Us] movie."

Additionally, Druckmann admitted that there are already a list of actors being considered for the planned movie.

"I just finished the second draft and we did a table read with a bunch of actors and that's where we're at."

While it seems like fans are only waiting for the official statement to finally confirm that Maisie Williams is going to play Ellie in the film, Digital Spy reported that there are still a number of actors being auditioned for the role of Joel, including, Dylan McDermott, Hugh Jackman and Gerard Butler.

"It was announced sort of prematurely almost in that I would love to play Ellie, they would love me to play Ellie," she said. "There's no film happening at this very second, so I cannot play Ellie right at this very minute. But when that comes around - if and when that comes around - I'll be here."
