A Solo Night Out? Benedict Cumberbatch’s Wife Sophie Hunter Attends Charity Event Alone

Nov 19, 2015 05:17 PM EST | By Pam Amantiad

Her husband has been getting a lot of attention for his movies and strong political statements lately but Benedict Cumberbatch's wife doesn't seem to wait for him at home and just taking care of their son Christopher.

The theater director stepped out recently, without the "Sherlock" star by her side, to attend a children's charity event in London.

The mother-of-one joined the Shop Wear Care event, the one-night only "shopping extravanganza" to help the Great Ormond Street Hosptal, at Claridge's Hotel.

Shoppers can go to the event and buy clothes, bags, and more all for the sake of giving better care to the patients at the hospital.

She also showed off her post-baby slimness with her boho-inspired outfit, wearing no other accessories to complement her look except for her wedding ring.

This isn't the first time that Benedict Cumberbatch's wife, Sophie Hunter, attended a public event, but this is perhaps the first time that she went to an event by herself. This also isn't her first foray into fashion.

She sat on the front of the Burberry show beside her husband beside her husband during the London Fashion Week last September.

As for her wildly popular other half, the star just received his CBE from Queen Elizabeth herself. He also managed to defend himself from the controversy he reportedly started when he spoke up about the UK's stand on the Syrian refugees issue into British soil after a performance of "Hamlet" at the Barbican.

He will reportedly aim to use his status as a celebrity to continue to "do good."

"I'm not interested in what flack I'm taking - I'm interested in trying to raise awareness and funds for people who are in far worse positions than an actor," he told a reporter who asked him about his rant after his "Hamlet" performance.

Benedict Cumberbatch's wife, Sophie Hunter joined him during the prestigious ceremony.
