‘Harry Potter’ Star Emma Watson Not A Fan Of Hermione? How ‘Ugly’ Was Her First Character?

"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson is best known for her role as Hermione Granger, one-third of the magical trio from JK Rowling's famed series.

However, she recently revealed how badly she cringes whenever she watches "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone."

Fans of the famous magical series may look back and think of the three lead actors as adorable but not the 25-year-old beauty.

"When I see the images of the first Harry Potter, I immediately think of how ugly my hair was," she reportedly Vogue Italia (via Time) about her character's physical appearance.

Cinemablend, however, thought she "got off easy," only getting Hermione's bushy hair. The book-Hermione not only had bushy hair, she was also described as having rather large front teeth, which she got corrected only when she was being treated for that Polyjuice mishap in the second instalment.

The article also pointed out that Ron Weasley's love interest started to manage her hair thanks to puberty. In the films, however, the change happened as soon as the second film.

The ugly hair aside, Emma Watson seemed to have chosen to take on Hermione's character in real life instead.

Like the justice driven genius in the series, the British actress also loves fighting for what's right. She was named the U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador and she definitely put that assignation to good use.

The "Noah" star launched the gender equality campaign HeForShe infront of world leaders at the United Nations headquarters in New York and used her status as a celebrity to convince men to help the cause.

According to Vanity Fair, she also got to sit down and talk with Malala Yousafzai to discuss feminism.

"I hesitated in saying [whether I am] a feminist or not," the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner told Watson. "After hearing your speech, when you said, 'If not now, when? If not me, who?' I decided there's no way, and there's nothing wrong with calling yourself a feminist. I am a feminist and you're truly feminist, because feminism is another word for equality."

Emma Watson may hate Hermione's hair in the first film, but it inevitably became the door that lead to her becoming an inspiration to other people.
