Carl's Jr. and Hardee's Become One Following Acquisition

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's completed a merger to become one entity Business Insider reported Thursday.

Roark Capital Group finalized the deal, and earned most of the share's of CKE, sister company, which represents Carl's Jr., and Hardee's.

"This is an exciting day for CKE," Andy Puzder, chief executive officer at CKE told Business Insider.  "We look forward to working with Roark and leveraging their deep knowledge in restaurant operations and franchising as we continue to grow the company and bring our great tasting premium-quality burgers to guests worldwide. Roark is an ideal next partner that shares our core values and mission of providing world-class service in the QSR sector.  The CKE management team will remain in place and our day to day operations will remain the same."

Green Burrito, and Red Burrito are part of CKE,. The company consists of 3,413 total locations throughout 42 states Business Insider reported. There are 30 others internationally, and United States territories. All locations bring in $4 billion in revenue Business Insider reported.

Hardee's introduced  thicker burgers on fresh-baked buns made in its stores on Carl's Jr. ovens  Nov. 14.

According to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the new product is sweeter, and more dense than the company's previous bun products. Customers can substitute the buns for others, which are a common size for all burgers, and available with a variety of other patties and sandwiches the company provides.

Roark Capital Group has 17 restaurant companies such as Arby's Auntie Anne's, Cinnabon, Carvel Ice Cream, Corner Bakery, Il Fornaio, McAlister's Deli, Moe's Southwest Grill, Schlotsky's, and Wingstop.
