When you receive something precious, you have to give something back - and that's exactly how Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is doing after his wife, Priscilla Chan, gave birth to a heatlhy and beautiful baby girl.

On his Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg announced the arrival of his daughter, Max along with a photo of himself, his wife Priscilla Chan and their newborn baby.

According to Fox News, philanthropist and pediatrician Priscilla Chan gave birth to her and Mark Zuckerberg's 7-pound, 8-ounce daughter last week.

"We're so happy to welcome our daughter Max into this world," Mark Zuckerberg wrote. "Everyone is happy and healthy. Thank you for all your love and support through our pregnancy. There is so much joy in our little family,"

Along with the another Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he has committed to give away 99% of his and wife Priscilla Chan's Facebook shares.

"We are committed to doing our small part to help create this world for all children," the 30-year-old billionaire wrote. "We will give 99% of our Facebook shares -- currently about $45 billion -- during our lives to join many others in improving this world for the next generation,"

This was further discussed in Mark Zuckerberg's open letter to his daughter, dated Dec. 2, Wednesday.

"Your mother and I don't yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future," the Facebook CEO wrote. "Your new life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. You've already given us a reason to reflect on the world we hope you live in,"

Mark Zuckerberg went on to say that the donations that he and Priscilla Chan will be giving will focus on two ideas: "advancing human potential and promoting equality."

The said ideas, according to the 30-year-old CEO, can be done through a variety of approaches such as making long term investments over 25 to 100 years, engage directly with the people they serve, build technology to make change, participate in policy and advocacy to shape debates, support strong and independent leaders in different fields and more.

The birth of Max comes after Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan had suffered three miscarriages over the past few years.
