United Airlines, Inc. has announced in a press release that complimentary snacks will be offered on all of the airline's flights within North America and Latin America by February 2016.

The complimentary free snacks come as United Airlines prepares to bring illycaffe's signature scuro dark roast coffee to United Club locations at the airline's hubs in the U.S.

United Airlines said customers who are on flights that will be departing before 9:45 a.m. will be receiving a morning stroopwafel, a caramel-filled waffle that is good with coffee or tea.

For customers who will be departing after 9:45 a.m., United Airlines will offer a packaged savory snacks, like an Asian-style snack mix of rice crackers, sesame sticks, and wasabi peas, or a zesty ranch mix of mini pretzel sticks, Cajun corn sticks, and ranch soy nuts.

United Airlines also said that passengers will still continue to enjoy the airline's Choice Menu items for purchase on flights that already offer these choices today.

The airline has designed a new chef-inspired fresh Choice Menu options and has partnered with The Trotter Project for it this year.

Jimmy Smartzis, the vice president of food service and United Clubs at United Airlines, said in the press release that the airline is focusing on "the big and little things that we know matter to our customers."

"We're bringing back complimentary snacks that are a nod to our global presence," he said. "They also add that extra level of service our employees will be proud to deliver and will make a big difference for our customers."

A spokesperson for United Airlines told ABC News that the snacks the airline announced will be offered on all the flights that do not already have complimentary meals and snacks.

Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and Jet Blue are already offering complimentary snacks on U.S. flights.

The spokesperson said that previously, United Airlines only offered snacks for purchase to flights within North America and the Caribbean.

Only on some trips in Latin America did the airline feature a free dining option.
