Mac 30: Apple Marks Anniversary of Original Macintosh Desktop Computer in Silicon Valley Saturday

Those involved in the creation of Apple's very first Macintosh computer are re-acquainting themselves with each other this weekend in Silicon Valley according to Market Watch.

"This little machine did a lot for computers and for ease of use," Randy Wigginton a former Apple employee told Market Watch. "I think that was an important step in the evolution of computer history," Wigginton told Market Watch. Wigginton was Apple's sixth employee, who made the company's word processor MacWrite software that came with the first Macintosh desktop computer Market watch reported. "Ease of use is really one of the hinges that the Macintosh swings upon," Wigginton told Market Watch.

The group holds a celebration Saturday honoring 30 years since the original mac computer was released January 24, 1984 Market Watch reported.

"It was a big effort to track down all these people," Daniel Kottke told Market Watch. Kottke helped build the hardware for the computer including prototypes, circuit boards, and the Macintosh keyboard.

Kottke was a good friend of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs Market Watch reported. The two went to India together in the 1970s according to information from Jobs wife Laurene Powell Market Watch reported.

Jef Raskin who created the mac project will be represented by his family along with Brian Howard, who was also part of the team.

 "He had a major contribution to Apple," Kottke told Market Watch about Raskin.

The iPhone 5C is $100 less expensive than the premium 5S with an initial price at $649 for the 16 gigabyte model.

Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller"We are focused on inventing the future, not celebrating the past," Phill Schiller, vice president at Apple told Market Watch.

The company's next device, due out in the second fiscal quarter of 2014 is expected to have a 4.8 inch display, 0.8 larger The Wall Street Journal reported.
