Big Ang's Cancer Spreads? 'Mob Wives' OG Vows To Beat The Disease Once Again

Dec 16, 2015 09:59 PM EST | By Sherylyn Toda

After successfully battling her throat cancer, reports claim that "Mob Wives" star Angela "Big Ang" Raiola is once again hit by the disease, TMZ revealed.

While the doctors were reportedly to have successfully removed the affected lymp nodes, sources close to the situation have reportedly claimed that Big Ang was given the unfortunate news once again.

Apparently, the 55-year-old OG cast of "Mob Wives" had been cancer free since October, after going through aggressive treatment.

But as she went on a routine checkup, doctors have told her that the cancer is back and unfortunately it has spread through various parts of her body.

While this is a sad news for the veteran reality star, TMZ reported that "she vowed she would beat it once, and she'll beat it again."

Big Ang's diagnosis was revealed by her sister, Janine Detore last April, as she told TMZ that the doctors have asked the "Mob Wives" cast to immediately take action.

"We are hoping for the best and are focusing on getting through the holiday," Detore previously said in an interview. "We love the fans and want to thank them."

And while Big Ang has yet to release an official statement about the supposed return of her cancer, she previously took to Facebook to thank her supporters for the overwhelming prayers and positive wishes for her.

"I went in for a test due to the nodule in my throat. I had a nerve wracking couple of days, as would anyone when you hear testing etc... However, I am home peaceful and relaxing. This coming week I will be taking proper precautions and having it removed. I do want to say that you have all been on my mind every step of the way and I am so thankful to each and every one of you for the love, support, prayers and most of all positive wishes. Big Ang isn't going anywhere! This is a minor setback, but I promise you this... I already have some BIG things in the world and will be returning to your TVs very soon. Always look after yourselves and don't neglect your health. I'm fortunate and blessed to have discovered something very early, and handle it in a positive manner. I thank you and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Stay posted in the coming days, I will give you all updates."
