LL Cool J is the official host of 2016 Grammy Award on Feb 15.  It will be the 5th consecutive year of the rapper and actor to front the awards ceremony since 2012.

Neil Portnow, recording academy president, said that LL Cool J's personality and energy is perfect for the show.

"We are delighted to welcome back the very talented LL Cool J as our host for the 58th Grammy's. His unique expertise, both as a GRAMMY-winning recording artist and accomplished actor, allows him to connect with both his musical peers and the fans at home, and his dynamic personality and charismatic energy set the perfect tone for our show," Portnow said.

LL Cool J is also excited and honoured to host the Grammy Awards next year.

"The performances and moments that take place on the Grammy stage are awesome in so many ways for the audience and artists alike. I'm honored once again to host Music's Biggest Night as we celebrate the talented music creators of today. It's going to be an incredible night and I'm excited to share this experience with the world," LL Cool J said according to a report by EOnline.

Grammy Awards is more focused on artists' performance rather than on trophy delivery and hosting itself according to Daily Mail.

The Grammy Awards will take place in Staple Center, Los Angeles on CBS, and will be stream live in New Zealand on the E! channel.

Meanwhile, nominees were already announced for the 2016 Grammy's. Kendrick Lamar has earned 11 nominations while Taylor Swift and The Weeknd both had seven nominations.

Some artists know that being awarded and recognized by the prestigious recording academy is indeed an honor.

"Even though people act like it is easy to make a hit (& it's not). As an artist you look forward to being acknowledged by the game. The odds have always been against me. I constantly prove you wrong. I'll consistently do great things & you will have to celebrate me," R&B singer Omarion tweeted.

After LL Cool J hosted last year's Grammy Awards, he has also taken another hosting duty on the "Lip Sync Battle" with model Chrissy Teigan.
