While many lost hope that Stephen King's "It" movie remake would push through following the exit of supposed director Cary Fukunaga, it seemed that New Line Cinema is determined to bring the classic horror film back to the big screen.

The giant studio seeme to have found a replacement to Fukunaga who told Variety the real reason for his exit.

Apparently, "Mama" director Andy Muschietti is now being eyed to take over the directorial seat, Fukunaga left.

Muschietti and New Line Cinema are reportedly in final negotiations already.

THR confirmed that producers David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, Dan Lin and Roy Lee are working doubly hard for Stephen King's "It" movie remake to come right back on track.

And while nothing has been made final yet, Screen Rant noted how Muschietti will fit perfectly in Stephen King's "It" movie remake explaining how "It" and "Mama" share "thematic ties in that they both deal with traumatized children and malevolent, mysterious supernatural creatures."

With a $15 million budget, Muschietti's "Mama" remarkably earned a whopping $146 starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau of "Game of Thrones" and Jessica Chastain of "A Most Violent Year."

A summary of Stephen King's "It" novel from Wikipedia reads below.

"The story follows the exploits of seven children as they are terrorized by the eponymous being, which exploits the fears and phobias of its victims in order to disguise itself while hunting its prey. 'It' primarily appears in the form of a clown in order to attract its preferred prey of young children."

With no concrete plans yet, Stephen King has yet to set a release date to the planned "It" movie remake.
