Elderly Boston Man's Erratic Driving From Rite Aid Parking Lot and Stop and Shop Lands Him Inside Realty Company Building

A senior citizen Boston man left a South Boston realty company building in shambles after reportedly losing control of his vehicle and plowing into the building The Boston Herald reported.

"I was in my little cubicle on the left side of the office and all of a sudden the building shook," Mike Foley, a realtor at Jack Conway and Company Realtors told The Boston Herald. "I looked on the other side of the building and there was a car that punched through the building and into one of the offices. It had gone in reverse, so it was the back end of the car," Foley told The Herald.

The man reportedly backed out of the Rite Aid's parking lot, and hit the side of a minivan as he zig zagged from side to side The Herald reported.

Then man then took the adventure through a two lane road with traffic while his car's gear remained in reverse.

The next stop would a vehicle in a nearby Stop and Shop parking lot, where the man drove over a guardrail near the realty firm, smashing through the building The Herald reported.

Foley and other people near the scene could not get to the man prior to firefighters presence.

"He was conscious the whole time and then they moved the debris and removed him from inside the office," Foley told The Herald.

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance a short time following the accident The Herald reported. It is not known if charges will be filed.

First responders called a building inspector to visit the scene, and evaluate the situation prior to clearing the vehicle from the scene, and out of the building Fox News reported.

The man received medical treatment for his injuries. Others affected by the mishap did not require medical attention CBS Boston reported.
