The location will be the municipality's foremost Chick-Fil-A when it opens Thursday, but it will be turned into a place for people to bring edibles to a food drive for the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry.

"As we celebrate a dream come true for us with the grand opening of this new Chick-fil-A location, we realize there are many who are struggling to put food on the table," Bob Gutherz owner of the Chick-Fil-A in Elmhurst, Ill told The Tribune. "This is a great opportunity to thank our community for the warm welcome by helping our friends and neighbors who might need a hand," Gutherz told The Tribune.

Participants who give five food products or greater receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich coupon from Gutherz The Tribune reported.  The pantry is in need to re-supply it shelves after a busy holiday season, and are at the 235 E. State Street Chick-fil-A's parking lot to gather non-perishable food from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Tribune reported.

"The extreme cold drives up heating costs and causes many families to seek help," Michele Zurakowski executive director at the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry told The Tribune. "We couldn't meet the intense need without incredible community support. We're thrilled that Chick-fil-A is looking to the needs of the community before even opening. What a great neighbor!"
