The Blackmagic Production Camera 4K has hit the market at the company's resell locations across the globe, and is $1,000 cheaper than its original $3,995 price at $2,995 Indiewire reported.

"The support from the creative community for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Production Camera 4K has been amazing," Grant Petty, CEO at Blackmagic Design said in a statement. "As with all of our products, we work hard in production to reduce costs so we can pass along the savings, even to our first Blackmagic Production Camera 4K customers," Petty said in a statement.

The Blackmagic Production Camera 4K is a perfect companion for ATEM Production 4K switchers and we hope the new low price will help more customers to expand their Ultra HD live production set-ups with even more camera angles," Petty said in the statement Indiewire reported.

Blackmagic originally intended to unveil the product in June at $3,995 before the company chose to slash the price because consumers waited patiently for its delayed release.

The camera is equipped with a Super 35-size sensor, and can record footage with ultra HD (3840x2160) ProRes 422 (HQ) on the device's SSD, or solid state drive recorder Studio Daily reported.

This allows users to capture footage in the best quality including music videos, episodes of TV shows, TV commercials, sports action, and documentaries according to filmmakeriq.com.

Users can also put more power into the camera using its rechargeable battery. Users can also adjust the device's settings on the same screen, and put in supplemental data, that can be used to provide details about other information.

The camera also has a global shutter, a lens mount that works with EF- and ZE selections, a five-inch liquid crystal display screen people can touch, a 6G-SDI output that can handle 10-bit high definition, and ultra-high definition recording Studio Daily reported.
