Hot Pocket Recall: Philly Steak and Cheese Products Pulled Back For Possible Lack of Inspection

Upon a meat recall Friday, Nestle USA, and Giant Food LLC are pulling back Hot Pocket Philly steak and cheese products since they may be affected by Rancho Feeding Corporation's recall of meat products a press release reported Tuesday.

"Products are being recalled due to some of the ingredients being utilized without the benefit or full benefit of federal inspection," Giant Food said in the recall information on its website.

Those with affected products are encouraged throw any part of the food they have not consumed, and come to a Giant Food supermarket with their receipt so they can get a full refund.

The products include nine ounce boxes of Hot Pocket Philly Steak and Cheese with UPC code, 4369507107 the press release reported.

Products with batch numbers 3021544512, and 3029544512 have a best before date of March 2014. Boxes with 3197544512 listed September 2014. Number 3240544512 had October 2014 the press release reported.

Nine ounce boxes of Hot Pocket Croissant Crust Philly Cheese Steak are also part of the recall. These packages have UPC Code: 4369505634.

Boxes with batch number 3211544512 have a best before date of Sept. 2014 Giant Food reported in recall information on its website.

Those with the number 3248544512 were listed as Nov. 2014. Number 3283544512  has December.

Hot Pocket Philly Steak and Cheese 54 ounce boxes with UPC code 4369507520 are also included. Products with batch number 3022544513 was marked as being good prior to March 2014 the supermarket company reported in the recall information.

The one ok to eat prior to Sept. 2014 has batch number 3191544512. Number 3224544512 has October 2014. Those with batch numbers 3254544512, and 3268544512 have Nov. 2014.

The United States Department of Agriculture pulled back 8.7 million pounds of meat made by Rancho Feeding Corp. because the food was produced with contaminated meat, and proper examination from the USDA the administration reported Friday.
